Day One: Saturday July 23
We arrived Friday night, just in time to go to bed and woke up bright and early Saturday morning. No more sleeping in at the Fair for Bryant! Those days are over for a few years. In fact, Daddy took Emerson for a 6 am walk first thing this morning. That gave them the opportunity to watch the vendors set up for the Arts and Crafts Show (Flea Market).
When you wake before 6am, you need a nap and that's just what Emerson did. Then, we took a trip to the square to actually see the wares at said Arts and Crafts Show. Emerson picked out a few wooden toys: a tractor, train, and tank. After the eventful morning Emerson took another nap, then played at the cabin.
Of course, we can't forget the Jackson/Burns Family Fish Fry at "the other Jackson cabin" a tradition on Saturday night.
Day Two: Sunday July 24
Sunday once again starting off bright and early again. Mommy and Emerson got to enjoy some quite time at the cabin before everyone woke up. We spent the day playing at the cabin till 2:00 when mom, dad, & Emerson headed down to the Pavilion for the Childrens Pots & Pans concerts. Basically someone gets up on stage with a guitar and plans kids songs will all the kids sit around "performing" along by banging on pots & pans. Emerson of course wasn't ready to participate but he did enjoy watching the other kids including his big cousin Ellington. I think he is pretty excited for next year when he can participate.
Sunday evening brought the annual FBC choir concert. We all headed down to the Pavalion with Emerson in the stroller. Emerson let us enjoy it for a bit, but soon became restless. We strolled around the Square for a little to stay within an ear shot, but decided to leave a little early to head back to the cabin. After we returned the bottom dropped out. It came a monsoon for I don't know how long. The amount of rain that fell cannot be acurately described. It stranded the Choir (including Grams) and most of the attendees under the pavalion for longer than they cared. After Emerson went down for the evening & the rain subsided. Mommy & Daddy enjoyed some Penn's catfish.
On our way to the Pots & Pans Concert
Started out as a muddy mess, but we tend to learn to adapt.....we learned that the year with no water. What memories!
