Spontaneity...the real spice of life

While, normally I wouldn't post something this boring, it was just too random not to post.

Yesterday, I mentioned going to buy Emerson a new pair of shoes since he's quickly outgrowing his current pair.  There's a Stride Rite in the mall...it's quick, it's easy, and I know Emerson will have shoes that fit correctly.  Bryant mentions going to the outlet mall in Vicksburg.  It's so close and we'd never ventured there...So, after Emerson's nap, we headed to Vicksburg!

While we did get one pair of shoes, we also got Emerson some new clothes he can grow into.  All the stores were still having great sales which made it so much better!  I'm horrible at waiting on shipping so when I can catch a sale that is worth the drive, I'm happy!

Before heading home, we stopped by McAlister's for a bite and Emerson had a blast eating his first "kids meal".  On the way home, we didn't want Emerson falling asleep so he eventually started playing with my camera.  In other words, more Photos By Emerson...

More from our photographer!

70 degrees in January!

Since the weather was nice on Friday and we wanted to do something to celebrate Emerson's 13 month birthday, we decided to head over to Friendship Park.  We hadn't been able to visit this park lately so it was fun to let Emerson play around.

Here are a few of the shots we get once Emerson finds Mommy's camera.

New Year's Eve

This year, we took Emerson to his first Mississippi State basketball game.  It ended up being a really fun weekend since we got to see Pop two days in a row.  He came to Ridgeland to hang out, play with Emerson, and of course watch State play Wake Forrest in the Music City Bowl on Friday.

Then on Saturday, we made the trek to Starkville to see the basketball team take on Utah State.  We figured a non-SEC team would be best for his first game since the Hump wouldn't be as full.  Emerson seemed to enjoy the game and the action kept him intrigued.  We did take a couple walks around, but he did a great job watching to game.   During halftime Emerson even walked about a third of the way around the Hump all by himself!  He did happen to steal some of our popcorn!

After the game, we headed over to the new Corner Station Grill for a late lunch/early supper.  Emerson decided to try all sorts of new foods today.  While he had eaten fries and mashed potatoes before, both here had garlic (which he'd never eaten) and he also ate chicken for the first time.  I couldn't believe it.  He actually ate it and didn't throw it down!  Finally, we dropped by Aunt Lane & Uncle Robert's to see them before we left town.

Unfortunately, I only have pictures from the game.  But it was a great time and now Emerson has been to the MS State sports trinity!

Fun around the house!

Yeah.  I'm cute.  I know it.  Now give me the camera.
After this last shot, Emerson grabbed the camera and proceeded to take is own pictures.
