Go Bulldogs!

Our first ever football game!  We decided to go to the MSU vs LA Tech game yesterday.  Emerson had lots of fun, but we left during halftime.  The stadium was pretty full and we were just too squished in for his liking.  There was a little boy behind us with a maroon wig.  Apparently, Emerson wants one.  He thought it was the funniest thing!  There were little kids in front of us also, that we played a little hide and seek with.  Emerson did not like the cotton Mommy put in his ears and kept pulling it out.  Mommy and Daddy finally gave up trying to put it back in just before the 2nd quarter was over.  Emerson also got to make friends with Danny and Jerry Wilkerson from the Neshoba County Gin.  He even told them that he'd come distract everyone from work one day.  Pop wouldn't mind!  Sorry Pop!  Before the game we took a few pictures, hung out, and ate at the Union.  Emerson passed out on the way home and barely made a peep.  All in all, it was a pretty good first football game, and State even won it! ...Eventually.

Alabama Saturday

On Saturday September 17th, we took a short trip to Hatton to visit with Granny and Mamaw.  We also got to see Aunt Deb and met one of our cousins (Jamal).  We had lots of fun and can hopefully spend more time up there soon.

9 Months

Well Emerson, it has been a fun month.  You're doing so much now. We even survived Daddy's first 6 day business trip!  You didn't like Daddy being gone.  After our Skpye video calls, I think you were just more upset because Daddy was there, but not picking you up.  You've started Mother's Morning Out at church and we're still loving Kindermusik.  We'll have to catch up on those later. 

What else have you been up to this month?  Well, let's see.  At your nine month check up, you weighed 21 lb and 12 oz and came in at 2 feet and 5 1/2 inches tall!

You are all over the place!  You've always been active, but now you move all around.  You aren't crawling and we don't expect you to, but you scoot and maneuver your way all around.  Pulling yourself up has become a new favorite game.  Everything is a platform for you to use: bathtub, jumparoo frame, crib, toy basket, toys, Mommy, Daddy...Standing up hasn't quite happened yet, but it isn't because you don't try!  But you do love standing up and you try to get Mommy and Daddy to hold you up whenever you can.  Standing up and cruising (beginning to anyway) on the ottoman and coffee table amuses you for a long time.   

While you don't like playing alone, you don't really have stranger anxiety.  You flirt like crazy!  You do; however, want Mommy and Daddy the moment you see us if you've been away from us. 

You do this stomach pat thing with both hands and we're not quite sure what it means.  We think it's just a I'm happy pat.  Or maybe you're trying to tell us you want to splash in the water... :)

Baby food is good, but you'd still rather nurse.  Snacks; however, are a favorite!  You love your yogurt melts and lil crunchers.  Thank goodness for Gerber!  :)  You love to pick them up and feed yourself.  You've eaten a few table foods but you'd rather stick with what you know at the moment.

We're hoping you get another tooth soon!  Every time we think it's on it's way, it never shows.

You're sleep schedule is gone.  You spoiled us by sleeping so well, but lately you've been fighting sleep so hard, finally going down between 8 and 9pm.  You're also waking up at about 3am then again about 5 or 6am.  Sometimes you'll go back to sleep and stay down until 7am.

You love to babble!  There have been a few times where it sounded like you said mama and baby but we know it was just a coincidence.

We love you Emerson and we're so excited to see you grow and discover new things!

All is well

Daddy is back & even brought me back something good.  I got a cool new shirt and a pop up card that I can't play with for awhile.  :)  I missed Daddy so much that I don't even want to go to bed now.

Mommy ran low on ideas of things to do, so we decided to visit Grams & Pop for a couple hours.  We just ate lunch so now we're playing.

For Daddy Day 5

Daddy's coming home tomorrow!!! Happy times!  We've had fun Daddy but we miss you.  Here's a look at our day today.  Mommy forgot to take pics at the Y again...  Have a good flight back home and we'll see you tomorrow night.

Hi Daddy.  Hope you had a good time in London today and didn't work too hard.  Mommy and I had fun today.  We played at the YMCA and then played.  Here's a few pics.
