Yes I am a Pirate 200 years too late

 

All decked out in my Sunday best.  Grams...the outfit was a hit at church!  

It's fun to make a mess!!

What I'm supposed to eat that?!  Nope!  Much more fun to blow bubbles!!!

5 Months

Emerson, You're 5 months old now.  It seems like yesterday that mommy and daddy were so scared of this new little person we needed to take care of.  Now, I'll let you in on a little secret.  We're still scared but you make it easy to not be quite so afraid especially when you just laugh and laugh at everything.  You've really decided you like to laugh and we love hearing it!!  But you've also decided you like to make this noise that's a cross between a squeal and a scream.  You like that noise much much more than any other!  Laying on your changing table (which is still your favorite place), in your swing, in your bouncy seat, in your bumbo seat, anywhere you happen to be; that sound is a favorite.

You're growing so fast!!  We haven't weighed you this month, but we're pretty sure you're already over 16 pounds.  The 6 month clothes have been in the closet for a bit now although you can still wear some of your 3 month stuff.  Outgrowing your sleep and play's is now a game.  Everyday we try one on and it's now too short!  Changing clothes is a favorite game too.  At least you think its a game.  Those little hands like to hold on to your sleeve and you just laugh and laugh at Mommy and Daddy as we try to get your clothes changed.

You've decided you don't like your playmat but you love your mirror.  That's the only way you'll stay down there for any length of time...you have to be able to see and grab your mirror.  Playing with the ball and the musical buttons on your jumperoo have become your new favorite thing.  Well, that's not exactly true.  Your changing table and Mozart Musical Cube are still your very favorite.  You can even push the buttons on your own (sometimes) especially with your feet.

Grasping items is now old hat for you but you aren't quite sure how to let them go.  You shake and shake until they drop.  Sophie the giraffe, your "tree rattle", and your "crinkly book" are your favorites.

You still sleep a good bit at night, but your day time naps seem to be getting shorter and shorter!  You take quite a few 30 minute naps instead of 3 hour and a half naps now.  When you are awake you want to be entertained and love to be up moving around.  Outside is still your favorite and there's so much to see at the park.  You watch the big kids playing and you act like you want to get down there and play too.  One day soon you will I promise! 

You make Mommy and Daddy proud since you love to listen to music but your favorite is when we sing You Are My Sunshine to you. 

You still aren't sure about bath time, but three things you greatly dislike...your car seat, darkness in the car, and direct sunlight.  Everything still goes in your mouth, but your fingers are your favorite followed closely but Mommy and Daddy's.

First NCF Fairground visit!!

The power is on and we just had to go visit for a day!!

MSU Graduation

Emerson, Here's another just for you.  I know you won't remember April 30, 2011 but it meant a lot to your daddy for you to be at his graduation.  He received his Masters of Business Administration form Mississippi State University and you slept like a champ.  Well, you let Pop hold you for awhile, got kind of fussy and hungry at the beginning.  Then you slept like a champ.  You woke up at just the right time and was ready to get out of the crazy noise filled place.  But you were there and your daddy was ecstatic.  

Aunt Lane, Uncle Robert, and Ellington had a wonderful lunch for everyone and later that evening we all went to dinner.  

Of course, being in Starkville we had to go to a baseball game. 

You didn't sleep the whole time, mommy just likes your sleepy pictures.  Here Daddy wanted you to sleep but you just wanted what we call your "spider ball."
