On Saturday we had our first real outing. Sure we've been to the doctors, grandparents, & even a store or two, but Saturday we had an entire day out in Starkville.
Shortly after 9:00 we loaded up in the car and headed north on the Natchez Trace. It wasn't log into the drive before Emerson fell into a deep sleep. This was great for two reason; one a crying baby in the car for 2 hours is no fun and mommy & daddy go some good conversation in during the drive. We head straight for the Connerley house where Emerson got to visit with Aunt Lane & his cousin Ellington
Ellington was nice to her cousin sitting politely by him. She kept saying baby and even gave him a kiss at one point. She's a great cousin and looks exceptionally cool in her beads.
After visiting for a couple of hours Mom, Dad & Emerson headed over to Dudy Noble Field. It was perfect weather for a baseball game and our seats were in the shade so Emerson didn't have to worry about that pesky sun.
After a couple of inning we were joined by Pops & Pappaw. Eventually Lane, Bert, & Ellington joined as well.
Emerson did a great job during the game for several innings he just sat around checking all the new sights out. After all he had never been anywhere like Dudy Noble. He eventually feel asleep and didn't let the crowd's jubilant cheers bother him too much.
After he woke and State had a considerable lead we left in the middle of 8th to head back to the Connerley's to feed a hungry baby. After taking care of Emerson we meet up with the rest of the gang and headed over to Little Dooey's for some bar-b-q.
Emerson ended the day by sleeping most of the drive home.
It was a great Saturday and a great outing. Thanks everyone for a fun day.

Lessons Learned #1
Lessons Learned #1
Do not force feed a baby. Just because they normally drink 4 to 5 ounces around 10 at night doesn’t mean they always want that much. The other night I gave Emerson his bottle a little early. After a couple of ounces he was trying to fall asleep. I wanted him to stay on his schedule and not wake up in the middle of the night wanting more so I kept tickling him and moving him around to keep him drinking. Finally I go the whole 4.5 ounces down. I should have known something bad was about to happen when much of the milk would just run down his face instead of being swallowed. I picked him up and burped him no problem.
Then I went to change is diaper and things took a turn for the worse. Immediately after lying him down he began to spit up and the liquid just kept flowing. It seemed more came out then went in. I immediately grabbed the diaper rage to wipe it up, but it was already everywhere. His onesi was soaked from top to bottom. I threw him up on my shoulder to make sure he had gotten it all out. By the time we were done my shirt, the diaper rag and his changing pad were all wet not to mention his onesi. In-fact the onesi was so wet I had to hang up in the bathroom to dry.
Needless to say now if he only wants to drink 2 or 3 ounces that is fine by me. You know the interesting thing is. He still slept through the night, though I can’t imagine there was anything in his belly.

It's been 2 Months!
Last Sunday Emerson turned 2 months old.
At his doctors visit on Monday he weighed 11lbs and 5 ounces. He was 24 inches long. Basically he is in the 50th percentile.
He is still sleeping a lot 12 to 15 hours a day, but is getting more active and playful. He still sleeps about 6 to 7 hours in a single stretch at night.
We are getting anxious for some warmer weather so we can get out and explore the world.

Happy Birthdays today
Happy Birthdays go out today to Mommy's grandmother and Mommy's father. Happy Birthday Mamaw and Papaw. (And thank you to Ms. Jo for showing this to papaw!)
A new visitor
On Wednesday Adrienne stopped by during her lunch break. Her mean manager let her have a few minutes to stop by and say hi. For those who aren't in the know, Adrienne is a Bomgar accounting employee and friend of Daddy's. Daddy isn't mean but we had to poke fun at him!
While we didn't get any pictures :( (Next time we will!! Mommy don't forget!) It was great to get to see and hang out for a few minutes with Mrs Adrienne. She even brought a care package for Mommy and I. I got a cool froggy rattle and Mommy got some great snacks! Thank you again Mrs Adrienne! Soon we'll be playing with her and Mr. Ray's daughters Taylor and Sidney. Can't wait! Soon we'll have to go see the rest of daddy's co-workers! Maybe then Mr. Joel will give me a cool orange shirt like daddy's.

Farm Fun
With the warm weather teasing us, last Saturday became Emerson's first trip to Philadelphia and the farm in Dixon. While he slept for a lot of the trip, Emerson did like looking around and feeling the sun on his face. But the trip up the Natchez Trace eventually got the better of him. Emerson has a fascination with the ceiling fan in our living room and his bedroom so we weren't surprised when his gaze ended on the fan in Grams and Pop's living room. He didn't seem to like it as much since it's a white fan on a white ceiling. A couple of times it seemed as if he was trying to say "you need a new fan!" While at the house, he even let Grams hold him without getting too fussy!
Since Pop wanted to play around with his chainsaw at the farm, Emerson wanted to go too. We walked/strolled around, and Emerson loved the new sights, sounds, and smells. In fact, Emerson was so excited that he stayed awake, looking around through the majority of our stroll through the trees. Emerson's jogging stroller had no trouble handling Pop's meticulously maintained trails!! A great time was had and Emerson can't wait until the weather warms back up to do it all over again!
Time to go home now Mommy & Daddy!
