No time for College Football...

...We've got pumpkins to pick and burgers to eat!  Saturday became a day full of fun, friends, and adventure!  We decided use the morning and take our trip out to the Nichols-Boyd Pumpkin Patch for Emerson to pick out a pumpkin.  It's always fun to take the hayride around, see the animals, pick the pumpkins, play in the corn, run around the hay bale maze (maybe next year we'll try the corn maze), and just take in a bit of family fun.

Of course, you always end up seeing someone you know!  First, Emerson and I met up with Lousia and her son.  Louisa is my dietitian at St. Dominic's.  Then, we saw our friends Ms Susan and Caroline from church! Caroline was one of my Sunday School kids last year.  We really only get to see then on Wednesday nights now, so it was fun to see them!

Daddy...go ride tractor!

waiting isn't fun

but hay sure is fun!

Happy boy headed home with his pumpkins!
After lunch and a much needed nap, we made our way to Jackson for the Bomgar Backyard Burger Bash!  This is the third year we've went (I believe) but the 5th or 6th they've had.  Joel and Rachael Bomgaars (and their kids) open up their home/backyard/front yard for the enjoyment of the Bomgar staff and families.  Backyard Burger supplies the burgers and such.  This year we had two extra (bigger than previous) large blow up bouncy maze things.  Bonfire for smores, a balloon making clown, and an awesome really high tree swing in the front yard were also on tap for the evening festivities.  It's always a blast to get to hang out with good friends/co-workers of Bryant's; and Emerson was old enough this year to actually enjoy the bouncy houses.  It's nice to be able to just let Emerson play with the toys and not have to worry.  We even got a green balloon sword.  All in all it was an awesome day!

Welcome!

Columbus Day!

Columbus Day was a Bomgar holiday this year, so Bryant went with us to Kindermusik!!  Always fun to have a guy there.

Farm fun at Grams and Pop's

Columbus Day weekend saw us making the short trek to Philadelphia.  Time to hang with Grams and Pop! We needed one more good weekend to take in the farm, and see the new 25 acres.  Driving down Friday after Bryant left work was wonderful.  No having to get up extra early to get going! We could stay out at the farm all day Saturday if we wanted to...and boy did we have fun!  It was a little cooler than we had expected, but that didn't stop Emerson from checking everything out.

We're here and ready to make a mess!

Got to check out the cradle

Emerson has been on a "hold baby" kick every since we saw one of our Associate Pastor's family at the park a week or so before this visit.  Sarah Elizabeth isn't but around 4 months old so I had to play mean mommy and tell him no.  But it never fails, out of the blue we'll hear "hold baby".  Luckily, the baby doll Grams and Pop got for Ellington substitutes just fine.

"working" with Papaw at the new digs!

Papaw has us really working now!

Oh!  Golf cart!  Another favorite to play on!

Hmmm...are we going to ride in this thing??

Playing is more fun than trees at the moment

Checking out the portable tree stand.
Got to make sure it's okay for hunting season!

So much fun!  It's always a blast to hang out with Grams and Pop.  Thanks for letting us drive you crazy for a weekend!
