The Essential Emerson: 8 months

Well, we're a little behind! First, here's to our 8 months!!

8 months. Seriously. Has it really been that long?

Well, what have you been up to? You are currently outgrowing all your clothes! You still fit in some of your 6 month clothes, but we've moved to 9 months and even a few 12 months. Unofficially, you weigh about 21 pounds. We're not really sure how tall you are at the moment other than tall!

You eat everything we put in front of you! You make the cutest face for the first bite or so, acting as if you have never tasted whatever you're eating before, then you're all happy with bite after bite. You've started eating snacks lately, but you can take them or leave them.

You're sitting up has lead to scooting around. You often spin around in a circle, especially if you want a specific toy. You've started pulling your basket towards you and pulling out your toys. While before you would automatically eat everything, now you actually shake, move, and stack things. You'll even clap your stacking cups together and laugh.

While you tolerate your stroller, you love being in your swing outside. The only time you like your stroller is when you're constantly on the move around lots of activity. You never let Mommy go walking anymore! You love to ride in the cart at the store too. Sit you in one of those and ride around Target & you're happy as can be for a little while. High chairs at restaurants will hold you for awhile but you just have to be moving and playing. But your new swing Daddy built the stand for is your ultimate favorite. The higher you go, the happier you are. You'll just laugh and laugh while you swing. We think the swing has taken the place of your changing table as your favorite spot in the house.

You show us something new everyday! It's truly amazing watching you grow.
