Fair Times! Part 1

Ah, it's that time of year again.  Time for the wonder that is the Neshoba County Fair.  Cabin 600 was sure to be hopping this year with a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 1/2 year old.  Bryant was able to leave work at lunch on Friday so we were able to arrive a little earlier than last year. Getting to the fairgrounds early friday afternoon was great!   Of course, that just mean Emerson could go play in the rocks earlier! It rained a little Friday evening and a little bit on Wednesday night, but this year was a great "rain free" year.

Playing in the rocks with our trucks!

Aww.  They posed all on their own.

Ellington's first show of the week!
Of course, the best thing is just hanging out on the porch, but Emerson was eager to check everything out!  There’s no time to sleep late when there’s so much to see!  So, Emerson and I would eat breakfast and go play outside (sometimes in our pajamas, sometimes in real clothes!)  We even started taking morning walks around the fairgrounds.  It’s fun to see what’s going on early and watch people start to wake up and come out to their porches.  Of course, this was also an excuse for Emerson to start a new rock collection every day.

Saturday brings the Arts & Crafts show and lots of fun bright stuff.  Emerson enjoyed looking at all the cool things, but it quickly became just too hot and muggy!  Saturday also brought David, Claudia, and Quinn to the Fair.  Claudia and Quinn came out to shop and visit while poor David tried to get rest and feel better back at the hotel. It was great to have them back around for a while this year. We did eventually get to visit with David too, just in time for the always tasty Jackson/Burns fish fry.  Seeing people you don’t otherwise get to see is always a fair treat.

My favorite toys!

I think Emerson found something
he likes!

The big kids decided to come see the bubbles...

Emerson had to get in on the picture of Ellingtion and Quinn!

Unfortunately, Sunday evening Robert had to leave for Starkville.  Work is so inconvenient sometimes!  But fortunately, he did get to see the wonderful pots & pans kids concert!  Ellington seemed to be having so much fun and poor Emerson wanted to play, he just couldn’t quite push nap time back far enough to stay for long.
