Muscle Shoals has got the swampers....

Because it had been awhile since we were able to see my mother or grandmother, we decided to take advantage of Bryant's three day weekend and head up to Hatton.

Amory, MS tends to be our rest stop.  They've got a cute little green park that Emerson enjoyed discovering while stretching his legs.

When we finally made it to Hatton, it was time for lunch!  My Aunt Stacy was there and we did a little grilling out.  Emerson wasn't sure what to do for a little bit, but then he was ready to play.  It was a good thing too because I finally got to meet my cousin Stacey Ray's little boy Sawyer!

a "new" car to explore helped get Emerson settled
after the long ride

I don't want to wear this Mommy & Daddy!

Daddy's helping me play ball with Granny

Checking out the toys in the basket with Sawyer

the ABC's & 123's are so much fun

We played and played but then it was time for Emerson to crash.  We needed all the energy we could get for tomorrow.  After all, there is just too much to explore!

I didn't really want to plan too much.  I knew exploring would be Emerson's main focus all day so I just wanted to go with it.

My dad had apparently gotten this Elmo somewhere and my
grandmother's various great grand kids have all decided
they like it.

Getting back in the ABC's & 123's...they're fun to scatter.
They're also fun to pour out and clean up!

Where's my key?!

Thirsty...let's take a break

...or not.  We'll sweep the yard instead.

In Ford City, AL at East Colbert Church of Christ's weekly fish
fry.  Emerson got to hang out with his great aunt Deb and meet
his great great uncle Kenneth

Nap time

Going to check out the creek

walking in the road

water is low...  :(

Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty... Emerson chased her around the whole
time we were there.  He finally got up the nerve to pet her.

I decided her name should be Shadow and
Emerson agreed.

I can unlock it!!

Up to something with Granny...uh oh!

Every kid loves this tractor...except
the one it was purchased for

Playing ball with Daddy

It was fun just to hang around and play a little without worrying about Emerson walking into the street.  Plus, my grandmother isn't getting around as well as she used to, but this way she still got to play with and see Emerson too.  We did run Granny around and around but that's what grandmother's are for right?  :)  It was nice to visit for awhile and give Emerson a bigger yard to play in.  But now I think he wants a dog and a cat! Oops!  And after the long ride back, we even made it to our early service at church to see Ms Betty.
