Pumpkin patch time

Can we do some pumpkin chunkin?? No.  Please? No.  Alright fine.  It was still a fun day.  :)  We decided to head down Highway 43 to the Nichols-Boyd Pumpkin Patch. The first tour of the day began at 10:00 so we decided that is when we should get there. Arriving just a few minutes after 10 there were already lines forming. We got our place in line and waited for the next wagon to load up. While waiting we got to play on some hay bails and well as you can see hay is FUN!

Thought since the cows ate hay mommy would want some.
Next we loaded up on the tractor for a tour of the farm. First thing we saw was a Zadonk, a half zebra & half donkey. We also saw goats, Black Angus cows, and a regular donkey. In the fields they had soybeans and sunflowers planted. At the ponds they had catfish and geese.

Mommy & Emerson checking out the goats.

So excited to see the ducks!
Finally we stopped at the pièce de résistance, the pumpkin patch! We unloaded from the wagon and walked out into the field where the pumpkins were actually grown to pick out our very own pumpkins. Emerson found the two best pumpkins in the field; not too big, not too soft, just right. We then got to walk over and check out the sunflowers up close & personal. Finally we got to go over the a sandbox only it didn't have sand in it, but shell corn. It was so much fun playing in the corn and Emerson even tried a kernel. Right before we loaded back up the next wagon arrived and our cousin Meredith Boston was aboard so we go to say a quick hello.

After a fun field wagon ride & pumpkin pickin' time it was time to load back up in the wagon for our ride back to the cars. It was a great adventure.
