Now that it is almost a week later, we get to Emerson's baptism at Highlands Presbyterian Church. Coming from a Baptist background, it was interesting to us that we felt the need to become involved with a Presbyterian church. But, we did and we are. We finally became members a month or so ago and we wanted to make sure Emerson was as involved as we are. As part of the ceremony we dedicated Emerson to the Lord. As his parents we committed to teaching him that Jesus Christ is his savior. Pastor Wheat and the congregation committed to praying for Emerson throughout his life and helping him any time he was in need. Emerson was then given a bible and a letter from Pastor Wheat to be opened on his 12th birthday to tell him about the events of that day.
Unfortunately, it's difficult to be involved and take pictures so Grams took pictures. Maybe we'll come back and post a few when we have a chance to get them from her. A special thank you to Grams, Pop, Papaw, and Aunt Reagan for coming up that day!
For now, here's Emerson and Grams.
